Mineko is protecting tenants from excessive rental costs

Founded in 2014 by serial entrepreneur Chris MΓΆller, Mineko helps tenants verify their utility and service charge bills (Nebenkostenabrechnungen).

The Berlin-based startup has analyzed over 100,000 residential bills and also examines commercial property charges. Their research shows that 81% of all utility bills contain errors, with residential tenants overpaying an average of €317 and commercial tenants overpaying around €5,211.

By emphasizing concrete savings figures and leveraging emotional triggers around housing security, we achieved click-through rates of up to 20%. Each ad variant was meticulously A/B tested to optimize performance, with top-performing elements continuously refined to maintain engagement even as the campaign scaled.

We developed a systematic approach to landing page optimization. By focusing on clear value propositions and reducing friction points, we improved conversion rates significantly. The landing pages prominently featured lots of social proofs, concrete savings examples, and straightforward call-to-action elements that reduced hesitation. Continuous A/B testing allowed us to quickly implement winning variations.
